Collision Repair for Accident Damage

Collision repair covers the damage that can follow a vehicle accident, including body panels, bumper areas, paint, structural sections, corrosion protection, and affected safety systems. The repair plan depends on the impact location, vehicle construction, hidden damage, parts availability, and manufacturer repair procedures.

Repair Planning and Damage Review

A photo estimate can start the conversation, but collision damage often requires in-person inspection or teardown. Los Angeles Collision checks the visible damage, panel alignment, mounting points, paint condition, and signs of hidden structural or mechanical impact before recommending the next step.

What This Service Includes

Collision repair may include cosmetic body repair, front-end collision repair, rear-end collision repair, side-impact repair, multi-panel repair, heavy collision repair, paint refinishing, corrosion protection restoration, and post-repair quality inspection.

Capabilities

Services
Included

Comprehensive repair solutions tailored to the exact specifications and damage profile of your vehicle.

01

Front-End and Rear-End Collision Repair

Repairs may involve bumpers, hoods, trunk lids, lamps, reinforcement areas, adjacent panels, and refinishing after impact.

02

Side-Impact and Multi-Panel Repair

Side damage can affect doors, fenders, quarter panels, rocker areas, roof rails, and panel gaps. The repair plan may involve panel repair, panel replacement, refinishing, and structural checks.

03

Repair Planning and Teardown

Some damage is hidden behind covers and panels. Teardown helps identify broken brackets, damaged absorbers, wiring, corrosion protection needs, and supplemental repair items.

04

Post-Repair Inspection

The final review checks fitment, gaps, finish quality, reassembly, and whether affected systems need diagnostics or calibration.

When Your Vehicle Needs Repair

Your vehicle may need this service if you notice:

  • visible body damage after an accident
  • doors, hood, trunk, or bumper no longer fitting correctly
  • paint damage, exposed metal, or cracked panels
  • warning lights after a collision
  • fluid leaks, unusual noises, or alignment concerns after impact
  • insurance documentation is needed for a claim

Repair or Replacement

Some collision damage can be repaired through panel repair, plastic repair, refinishing, or adjustment. Replacement may be required when parts are torn, crushed, kinked, structurally compromised, or no longer fit safely. The decision depends on the material, damage location, repair procedures, and what is found during inspection.

How It Works

01.

Initial Inspection

Visible damage, vehicle condition, and customer concerns are reviewed.

02.

Estimate and Documentation

The repair scope is documented for the customer and, when needed, the insurance process.

03.

Teardown or Diagnostic Review

Hidden damage, structural areas, wiring, sensors, and related components are checked when required.

04.

Repair Plan Confirmation

The shop confirms whether each damaged area should be repaired, replaced, refinished, or calibrated.

05.

Body, Paint, and Reassembly

Panels are repaired or replaced, surfaces are prepared, paint is matched, and the vehicle is reassembled.

06.

Final Quality Check

Fitment, finish, function, and repair completeness are reviewed before delivery.

Equipment & Materials

Collision repair may use measuring tools, frame and body equipment, welding or joining tools, refinishing materials, paint matching equipment, diagnostic scan tools, and corrosion protection materials depending on the vehicle and damage.

What Affects the Cost?

Collision repair cost depends on the full repair scope. Final pricing is confirmed after inspection because hidden damage, parts, paint, and calibration needs can change the estimate.

impact location and severity

number of damaged panels

hidden damage found after teardown

parts repair versus replacement

paint color and blending needs

structural or corrosion protection work

diagnostics or ADAS calibration

After my Genesis was involved in an accident, I started searching for a body shop near me and quickly realized that finding the right repair facility is important. Since my vehicle is leased, I wanted to make sure it was repaired properly and according to OEM repair procedures. The last thing I wanted was to have issues when returning the vehicle at the end of the lease because repairs had not been completed to manufacturer standards. After speaking with several collision repair shops, I chose The Body Shop Collision Repair, and I’m very happy I did. One of the reasons I felt comfortable moving forward was that they are insurance approved and OEM certified. They explained the repair process in detail, answered all of my questions, and made it clear that quality and safety were their priorities. The team worked directly with Progressive Insurance and handled most of the communication for me, which made the entire process much less stressful since I’m not a fluent English speaker yet. Throughout the repair, they kept me informed and were always available whenever I had questions. I would also like to personally thank Francisco, for the outstanding customer service. Francisco was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. What impressed me most was learning that he has specialized education in the automotive industry. As a customer, it gives you a lot of confidence knowing that your vehicle is being repaired by people who have special training and truly understand modern vehicle repair, OEM procedures, safety systems, and manufacturer requirements. When I picked up my Genesis, the results exceeded my expectations. The paint match was flawless, the body lines looked factory-perfect, and there was no indication that the vehicle had ever been involved in an accident. Most importantly, I left knowing that the repairs were completed correctly using OEM procedures and OEM parts whenever available. If you’re looking for a body shop near me, collision repair near me, Genesis collision repair, auto body repair in Los Angeles, insurance-approved body shop, OEM-certified collision center, or a repair facility experienced with Progressive Insurance claims, I highly recommend The Body Shop Collision Repair. Thank you to Francisco and the entire team for making what could have been a stressful experience incredibly easy. The professionalism, communication, craftsmanship, and attention to detail were exceptional. Hopefully I won’t need collision repairs again anytime soon, but if I do, I know exactly where I’ll be bringing my vehicle.

Had help from Arsen and Francisco, can recommend to my friends and family, and know they will be in great hands. Someone hit my wife's car while it was parked. The shop helped us, it was a 2-day turnaround time. Delivered before, and it looked like nothing happened to the car. Paid out of pocket because why involve the insurance when their price was very competitive. Brand new again! Thanks guys!

Arsen and his crew did an AMAZING job on my car. My rear bumper was coming off a bit and needed an adjustment and so I called them and they said they could do it for free. So I took it to this shop and they got it done for me in like 25 mins and wow is it perfect. They even had to take off the whole back bumper. After that I offered to pay and they kept their word and did the job for free. They did a 10/10 job and their service and attitude was so so good. Their wait room is also very clean and modern! The 30 minute drive was definetly worth it!! I am definetly coming back their crew and work are just amazing! 10000/10
